Mr. Hadjian was born, educated and lived in Iran until 1980. Between 1959 and 1968 Mr. Hadjian was a professional journalist in Iran, with positions including editor, writer, reporter, translator and commentator in major Iranian publications and news agencies. His profession a journalist required and helped Mr. Hadjian's foundational understanding of the Iranian legal, social, economical and political structure. Between 1962 and 1966, Mr. Hadjian attended the School of Law, Political Science and Economics in Tehran University. Among others, he received courses in Iranian Constitution, Civil, Family and Probate law, furthering his understanding of the legal, social, economic and political infrastructure of his native country. Upon graduation. Mr. Hadjian became a political appointee in the Office of the Governor General, Iranian Southern Ports and Islands (Persian Gulf), where he acted as a ranking civil officer in the region until 1978, the year of the Iranian Revolution. As deputy to the Governor General in social and economic affairs, Mr. Hadjian relied heavily on his legal studies and implemented them in real life situations. In 1975, Harvard University accepted him to the renowned Edward S. Mason Program for Public Development on full scholarship, acknowledging five years of Mr. Hadjian's services in developing the Persian Gulf region as one year of post-graduate studies. He was awarded a Masters Degree in Public Administration. After Harvard, Mr. Hadjian returned to the Persian Gulf region and along with other duties, founded the Free University of Iran, Bandar Abbas Branch, to which he was appointed the first president. During this period, Mr. Hadjian acted mostly as Acting-Governor General in independent projects. In 1980, Mr. Hadjian emigrated to California and resumed his legal studies in the San Fernando Valley College of Law (now LaVerne University, San Fernando Valley campus). During law school he was employed by the college as the assistant librarian and was trained to assist law students in online legal research. After graduation, Mr. Hadjian created the Pleading and Discovery Center, a research and document producing/responding center for the legal profession. In 1988, Mr. Hadjian became a member of the State Bar of California. Since emigrating from Iran, Mr. Hadjian has remained in continuous contact with the Iranian law and legal community through his former friends and associates. He has received and reviewed new additions to Iranian laws under the republican system. His access and expert knowledge of Iranian law and procedure is one of the sources of reference for many Americans and Iranians in the United States. As an attorney, Mr. Hadjian has devoted a substantial part of his practice to educate the Farsi- speaking community via public media such as television, radio, news magazines and live conferences, in understanding the American legal system as compared to the Iranian legal system. |
